Guangüiltagua (2011 - 2014) es el nombre del parque urbano más grande de sud américa con más de 557 hectáreas. El parque se encuentra en el costado oriental norte de Quito, colinda con el valle de Tumbaco hacia el oriente y la ciudad hacía el occidente.
Me he acercado a este espacio desde el uso de la fotografía en blanco y negro y en distintos formatos que van del digital al uso de películas 6x6 o gran formato 4x5. Buscando encontrar un cruce en el paisaje entre lo natural y lo intervenido por los proyectos metropolitanos.
Guangüiltagua (2011–2014) takes its name from what is often described as the largest urban park in South America, covering more than 557 hectares. The park lies on Quito’s northeastern eastern flank, bordering the Tumbaco Valley to the east and the city to the west.
I approached this site through black-and-white photography in multiple formats, ranging from digital to 6×6 film and large-format 4×5. The series seeks to locate points of intersection in the landscape between what appears “natural” and what has been shaped by metropolitan interventions.
